RM21

Remote I/O Module in RS485 ModBus

  The “RM21” is a module that combines Analog and Digital Inputs/Outputs. It is an efficient and economical solution for remote command and control of remote I/O’s. A field bus based on the industrial standard Modbus RTU allows a RS485 communication with Master unit (SCADA package, TBOX CPU,  PLC,...).The “RM21” module is based on an aluminum anodized enclosure. It is easily clipsed on a DIN rail without the need for specific tools. Various LED’s are displayed on the front side.

Bus

The bus runs on 4 wires: 2 for the RS485 and 2 for the power supply of the module (between 8 and 60 Volts). The transmission speed can be set between 4.800 and 115.200 baud. A  maximum of 255 modules can communicate simultaneously over a distance that can exceed several kilometers.
 Inputs/Outputs

    • 24 Digital Inputs (isolation by group of 12 Inputs) - 8 to 60 VDC;
    • 8 Digital Inputs or Outputs (open collectors) 8-35VDC with internal protection against short circuits - isolation by group of 8);
    • 8 Analog Inputs in 0/4-20mA (12 bits resolution);

    • 4 Analog Inputs in 0-10V (12 bits resolution), isolation by group of all analog inputs;

    • 2 Analog Outputs in 4-20mA (12 bits resolution), isolated one by one.

Configuration

  • Configuration software by PC

  • memorization of I/O status

  • counting of digital pulse inputs: up to 100 Hz
